After our journey through the outer shrubland of Volo Bog, you reach the area where the iconic Tamaracks thrive. At first, it seems pretty much the same- very different dominant plant species, but very similar understory. That is, until, you see a great big pile of the endangered Purple Pitcher Plant- plus two of its flowers!!! Conveniently, they are within three feet of the info sign about Purple Pitcher Plants. That, my friend, is really weird*.
