After a long day of foraging, young mycologist Ari Akagawa suffered from a rare spore outbreak. After harvesting 18 of the 198 Destructive Pholiota he discovered at Hegewisch Marsh Park, Ari passed out from exhaustion in the back seat of the family minivan. In the morning, Ari awoke to find himself with a severe infliction of 'faceshroom syndrome' also known colloquially as 'fungus plugs'. Many pubescent preteens are afflicted with this invasive infection when their open pores are germinated by fungus spores. His parents were relieved when they discovered they were easily removed and that Ari finally agreed to wash his face more regularly (after all, he does get food all over his face often).
