Smooth Softshell, Eastern Amberwing, and Common Whitetail. It has a fishing hook stuck in its mouth. It is better for wildlife if anglers pinch back barbs as it will cause less injury to the fish/turtle. This turtle will likely need human intervention to remove the hook. We were no close enough to attempt a capture. Fishing line is also a hazard to many types of wildlife. Please dispose of it in special receptacles or place it in a bottle with a screw on cap so there is a reduced chance of harm.
