Day 5 of our trip to California. We finally made it to San Diego!!! There were tons more of the Desert Stink Beetles, one of them was in a defensive position (not because of us). There were also TONS of Willets, Dowitchers, and Marbled Godwits, the last one we've only seen in a pair really far away before! There also was a Tricolored Heron, which was our nemesis bird* for a while back in Chicago.
See all of the California trip posts at the California trip 2024 page.
*a nemesis bird is a bird that you keep on trying and failing to see
